Are there scams being sent out on the Internet of the July ,2000 Air France crash?

I received a e-mail asking to ist in standing in as a next of kin to Ali Khattak(President Transfield Worley Co.)who died w/his family.He had a fixed time deposit of 1,700,000.00 pounds sterling.and the e-mail goes on and on.It was sent by Kirk Reynolds QC (Falcon Chambers UK) attykirk@yahoo.com Is this a scammer,I think a big YES.
