I am trying to mix two .wav files using MS Sound Recorder and I am getting an error message..need help?

I am getting an error mesaage stating, "not enough memory available...try shutting down one or more programs...:" I have gone so far as to restart in safe mode so there is nothing else running but I can't get these two files to mix. Any suggestions?
